"I hope that my own children will be able to look back at the moments I have captured through photographs and smile with gratitude. I hope that as they grow older these framed memories will serve as evidence that I find them beautiful, and that I am proud of them."

Hi! I’m Susan.

I am a professional photographer with a fully equipped studio in Rockwall, Texas. I am trained in newborn safety and have taken workshops with some of my favorite photographers, such as Suzanne Merrill with Starr Photography and Ana Brandt with TAOPAN. I mustn't forget the photographers who guided me since the beginning, Maegan Rachelle, Holly Brown-Ayers, & Kristin Delaney, I thank them immensely for believing in me and being there for me throughout the years. I’ve had some awesome mentors and I’ve been fortunate to become close friends with photographers who inspire me daily.

I have worked hard to set myself apart as a photographer in and around Dallas/Fort Worth by offering clients something unique. Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a drive and a passion for creative arts. I often swear I only function from the right side of my brain! Most notably, my abilities and experiences as a painter have led me to create customized newborn and cake smash sessions. I hand paint the majority of my backdrops and design one-of-a-kind sets for newborn and birthday sessions to match their chosen theme. My goal is for your hand painted sessions to look different than any other session you have seen. This is where I merge my background in painting and design with my passion for photography in order to give you a unique keepsake that I trust you and your loved ones will cherish.

I have chosen to specialize exclusively in Newborn, Early Childhood, and Maternity photography. As a mother of two, I feel that I personally connect and identify with my clients. I have walked and continue to walk their same steps. We are all parents, trying to do the best job we can at raising these little humans to be the best version of themselves. One way that we can remember our hard work, and a way we can document the story of our children, is through portraits.

I hope that my own children will be able to look back at the moments I have captured through photographs and smile with gratitude. I hope that as they grow older these framed memories will serve as evidence that I find them beautiful, and that I am proud of them. I am thankful to have portraits of my family, images that depict not only what we looked like but also who we were (and in that sense, who we are becoming). These portraits bring smiles to everyone who enters our home, and happy tears to me as I travel back through the time we’ve shared. My goal is to provide the same for you.
